X (Twitter) video downloader
Paste the link of a post on X to save its video, its GIF or its images. Links from x.com and twitter.com both work, including posts with several pictures.
What you can download
- Videos in posts, replies and quotes
- GIFs, which X stores as short MP4 videos
- Images attached to a post
- The audio of a video, as MP3 or M4A
- The cover image of a video
Formats and quality
- Video: MP4 in the resolutions X offers for that video.
- GIF: saved as an MP4 video, the format X actually uses for GIFs.
- Images: the pictures of the post, as published.
- Audio: MP3 or M4A, taken from the video.
How to download in three steps
- 01
Copy the post link
Tap the Share icon under the post, then Copy link. On a computer, click the date of the post and copy the address.
- 02
Paste it on SocialDownload
Paste the link here. Addresses from x.com, twitter.com and their mobile versions are recognized.
- 03
Choose and download
Tick Video, Audio or Cover, then download. For a post with pictures, they are offered as images when X exposes them.
Good to know
- Copy the link of the post itself, not of the profile: a profile link points to many posts.
- Posts from protected accounts are only visible to approved followers and cannot be downloaded.
- Some posts marked as sensitive are only shown to signed in users, so they may fail on the website.
