TikTok video downloader
Paste a public TikTok link to keep the video, its sound, its cover, or the pictures of a photo carousel. Short links copied from the app (vm.tiktok.com, vt.tiktok.com) and full tiktok.com addresses both work.
What you can download
- Videos from public accounts
- Photo carousels (photo mode), image by image
- The sound of a video, as an audio file
- Cover images
- Captions as a transcript, when the video has them
- All the videos of a public profile, in the desktop app
Formats and quality
- Video: MP4, in the resolutions TikTok makes available for that video.
- Audio: the sound of the video in MP3 or M4A.
- Images: each picture of a photo carousel, as published.
- Cover: JPG, PNG or WEBP.
How to download in three steps
- 01
Copy the TikTok link
In the app, tap the Share arrow on the right of the video, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address of the video page.
- 02
Paste it on SocialDownload
Paste the link here. Short links are followed automatically to the right video or photo post.
- 03
Choose and download
Tick Video, Audio or Cover, then download. For a photo post, the pictures are offered when TikTok exposes them. All the files from the same TikTok count as one download.
Good to know
- A sound used in a TikTok often belongs to someone else: the creator of the original sound or song keeps their rights over it.
- A profile link is a collection. The website handles one video per link, while the desktop app can download every video of a public profile.
- Videos from private accounts and deleted videos are not accessible.
Questions about TikTok
Can I download TikTok photo posts?
Yes. Paste the link of the photo post: its pictures are offered when TikTok exposes them, and you can tick Audio to keep the sound that plays with them.
How do I save only the sound of a TikTok?
Tick only Audio and choose MP3 or M4A. You get the soundtrack of that video without the image.
Does it work with links copied from the TikTok app?
Yes. Links from the share menu, such as vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com short links, are recognized and opened automatically.
Is the TikTok downloader free?
One TikTok per day is free, up to 720p, with no account needed. After that, use credits (packs of 20, 40 or 60 links) or the lifetime desktop app at 47.99 EUR.
