Is SocialDownload free?
Yes. On the website you get one free download a day, up to 720p, without creating an account. For more, take the weekly or monthly plan, a few cents per download, or get the desktop app with unlimited downloads.
Which sites are supported?
YouTube, YouTube Music, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, Reddit, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Twitch, Kick, SoundCloud, Douyin, Weibo, Brut, Patreon, Udemy, Coursera and Crunchyroll. Streams protected by DRM cannot be downloaded.
Is the desktop license really for life?
Yes. You pay once and the license stays valid for the lifetime of the product, with every update included, on up to 3 computers at a time.
How do transcripts work?
SocialDownload uses the subtitles or automatic captions published with the video. When a video has none, the transcript option is not offered. Export plain text, text with timestamps, SRT, VTT, Word or PDF.
Are my files stored on your servers?
No. Files stream straight to your device and are never kept on our servers. The desktop app works entirely on your computer.
Why would a download fail?
Private videos, content behind a login, age or region restrictions and DRM can block a download. If a download fails on our side, the download is given back to you automatically.
Is it legal to download videos?
It is fine for content you own, have permission to use, or that is licensed for reuse. You remain responsible for respecting copyright and the terms of each platform.
