Reddit video downloader with sound
Videos hosted on Reddit (v.redd.it) keep their picture and their sound in two separate streams, which is why some tools save silent clips. SocialDownload merges both into a single MP4 with audio, and also saves GIFs and the images of gallery posts.
What you can download
- Videos uploaded to Reddit (v.redd.it)
- GIFs, saved as MP4
- Image posts and galleries
- The audio of a video, as MP3 or M4A
- Links from old.reddit.com, the current site, the app and redd.it
Formats and quality
- Video: MP4 with sound, merged from Reddit's separate video and audio streams.
- Images: each picture of a gallery or image post.
- Audio: MP3 or M4A.
- Cover: the preview image in JPG, PNG or WEBP.
How to download in three steps
- 01
Copy the post link
Tap Share under the post, then Copy link. On a computer, copy the address of the post page, from old or new Reddit.
- 02
Paste it on SocialDownload
Paste the link here. SocialDownload finds the video, the GIF or the images inside the post.
- 03
Choose and download
Tick Video for an MP4 with sound, Audio or Cover, then download. For an image post or a gallery, the pictures are offered as images.
Good to know
- If a post only links to another site, such as YouTube, paste that original link instead: the media is not hosted on Reddit.
- Posts in private communities and some age restricted posts require a signed in session and may fail.
- Some clips have no sound at all: if the uploader posted a silent video, the MP4 will be silent too.
Questions about Reddit
Why do Reddit videos sometimes download without sound?
Reddit serves the picture and the sound as two separate files. A tool that only takes the first one produces a silent video. SocialDownload merges both into one MP4.
Can I download a Reddit gallery?
Yes. Paste the gallery post link: its pictures are offered as images to save, in a single download.
Does it work with old.reddit.com links?
Yes. Links from old.reddit.com, www.reddit.com, the app and redd.it short links all work.
Is the Reddit downloader free?
One Reddit post per day is free, without an account, up to 720p. For more, choose a credit pack (20, 40 or 60 links) or the lifetime desktop app (47.99 EUR).
