Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

1. In short

SocialDownload only uses cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary for the Service: keeping you signed in, applying the free daily allowance fairly, preventing abuse and securing the administration area. We use no advertising, social media or analytics cookies, and no third party trackers. That is why you do not see a consent banner.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, IndexedDB and the reading of technical characteristics of your browser or device (fingerprinting). French law treats them the same way, so this policy covers all of them.

3. What we use

Your language is given by the page address (French pages start with /fr). If a language choice is remembered, it is stored in a preference that contains nothing but that choice, which is also strictly necessary.

Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act, which transposes the European ePrivacy Directive, requires consent before information is stored on or read from your device, except where this is strictly necessary to provide an online service that you expressly request, or where its sole purpose is to enable a communication by electronic means.

In its guidelines of 17 September 2020, the CNIL lists among the exempted trackers those used for authentication, including those that secure the authentication mechanism; those that allow a service to limit free access to a predefined quantity of content or for a limited period; and those that remember an interface choice such as the language. Our cookies and storage keys fall within these cases. They are used only for the purposes listed above, never for advertising or to follow you across other websites.

5. Audience measurement without cookies

We measure audience and performance with Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. These tools do not use cookies and only give us aggregated statistics. More information is available in our Privacy Policy.

6. Payment pages

When you pay, you are redirected to a payment page operated by Stripe. Stripe uses its own cookies there, for payment security and fraud prevention, under its own cookie policy.

7. Managing cookies

You can delete cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings. If you do, you will be signed out, and the free allowance will still be applied using the other signals described in our Privacy Policy. Blocking these cookies entirely may prevent the Service from working.
